Devastating news,
thieves visited the church last night and stole lead from the chancel roof. Police believe they were disturbed, was it you, did you see any vehicle up there on the evening of the 14th? If so, you can report your sightings to crime stoppers anonymously on o8oo 555 111.

Excellent news
Saint Mary’s has been successful in its application for a grant from the Heritage Lottery funding towards the next part of the restoration of the wall paintings and the instillation of electricity, new furniture and some work on the Nave. This work will cost £212,798, the grant comes to £191,500. A further allowance has been promised from the Council for the Care of Churches, together with a further £4,000 from Norfolk County Council. However this still leaves £11,000 to find. Please dig deep as your donations are always most gratefully accepted.

Bob has received an MBE in recognition of his devotion over the last 14 years to the restoration of the church.

Ground to the West of the Church has been reclaimed during 2005, Bob has already been busy planting it up, there was a huge display of daffodils on the bank as you approached the church this spring.

1st May 2004 First Wedding Blessing
The Reverend Peter Taylor conducted the first wedding blessing to be held in the church since 1921. The now Mr and Mrs Christopher and Sharron Hazel (nee Mulley) were married earlier today at Dereham registrars office. The ceremony of prayer and dedication took place at 2.30p.m. The bride was attended by three bridesmaids and two page boys. The couple very kindly agreed to allow me to take a few photos of their special day for this momentous occasion for Saint Marys.
